I loved this dentist office for years when I saw Dr. Barker. The hygienist Jessica is great - I have only good things to say about her. However, I saw new dentists my last few visits. At my last visit, I was told I needed 4 fillings at once after never needing any. I had 2 of them done, but then the office stopped accepting my insurance. I went to a new dentist in-network to get a new treatment plan for the other 2 teeth. The new dentist stated I didn’t need any fillings and the 2 that Jacksonville Complete Dentistry had done were so surface level it was more like a sealant and one was a sealant with stain remaining underneath. So caution - get a second opinion if you go here and suddenly need a lot of work.

Hello, I really enjoy coming to this dental office and have always had a great experience. However, I recently changed my dental insurance plan, and unfortunately, I wasn’t aware that my new plan is not in-network with your office. I had made an appointment and even left work early to make it on time, only to find out upon arrival that I would be charged out of pocket for the cleaning. I wish I had known this in advance to avoid the inconvenience. Just wanted to share this feedback in hopes it might help improve communication around insurance coverage in the future. Thank you.

We completely understand how frustrating insurance issues can be, especially when plans or coverage change. While it is ultimately each patient’s responsibility to verify insurance coverage and confirm which providers are in-network, our office does offer insurance verification as a courtesy to help make things easier whenever possible. Unfortunately, insurance networks can change frequently and not all plans provide up-to-date information to dental offices in advance. This is first time in 14 years I have not rated them as 5 stars. I was in the chair in time and had a polishing first - a change! Then waited 40 minutes before I had my teeth cleaned. They apologized and said they would refund the cost of the fluoride which I’m not sure happened. As I say, the practice is usually great but not this time.

Dr. Rose and all the hygienists are very nice, and the practice is clean (although overdecorated in a very dated style). Unfortunately, their billing and reception are not good. I went for a cleaning and exam today, and when I checked out I was told I had a $247 balance from my previous visit because they no longer accept my insurance. They didn't tell me this before my last appointment or at this appointment when I arrived, and they never sent me a bill. They previously sent me a bill for a visit several months ago and stated they were out of network, but when I inquired about it they just said they "fixed" it. Since then, my husband and I both have gone for cleanings and exams and asked if there were any billing or insurance issues and we were told no...until today. I even asked the receptionist if she knew I had an insurance they didn't accept when she checked me in, and she said yes, but they sent letters (which I never got) to patients and she assumed I knew. They're good but not enough for me to not use the insurance I have and pay out of pocket. BEWARE!!!!

Very well staffed. But these people are NOT on the up and up. They will do everything they can to get you to keep coming in by not handling the issue you originally came in for. They did this to me. I came in because I bumped my chin and my teeth were tingling; but they steered me into some expensive treatment saying I had gingivitis, etc. ( Bye the way I was told months before by the original hygienist, that I had been taking great care of my teeth, I had so little plak) This hygienist talked down to me like I was a child and she even tried teaching me how to take care of my teeth. I won't be going back. That Manager was so disdainful to the situation, it was a waste to talk to her.
